We are proud to present the completion of another key investment — the construction of a state-of-the-art Department of Pathomorphology and Mortuary, developed as part of the Kashubian Heart and Vascular Disease Center at the Florian Ceynowa Specialist Hospital in Wejherowo. This facility is a component of a broader hospital expansion project that significantly enhances the quality and range of medical services available in the region.
The investment included the construction of a new, specialized building housing the Department of Pathomorphology and Mortuary, a modern surgical block, and advanced diagnostic facilities. Our team was responsible for all construction work and for equipping the spaces with high-end, specialized equipment necessary for conducting histopathological, cytological, and post-mortem examinations.
“This investment enables further development of the Florian Ceynowa Specialist Hospital. It will improve patient conditions and, thanks to cutting-edge medical equipment, will enhance both the safety and effectiveness of treatment. Doctors, nurses, and all medical staff will have access to modern technology and spacious, well-equipped rooms.”
Mieczysław Struk, Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship
The technological solutions applied in the hospital guarantee the highest standards of safety and optimal working conditions for the medical staff. The modern infrastructure enables efficient diagnostics and fast, precise analysis of biological material — directly contributing to more effective patient care.
Thanks to the implementation of modern technologies at the Kashubian Heart and Vascular Disease Center in Wejherowo:
• diagnostic times have been significantly shortened – especially in situations requiring rapid surgical intervention,
• the accuracy and consistency of results have been improved – leading to more effective treatment,
• the working comfort and safety of medical personnel have increased – with ergonomic, digitally supported devices reducing the risk of errors,
• scientific and educational capabilities have been enhanced – microscopes with integrated cameras and monitors enable collaborative analysis and teaching sessions.
As part of the investment in Wejherowo, we have:
• supplied the Department of Pathomorphology with a modern, freestanding cryostat that allows quick preparation of frozen tissue samples and supports intraoperative diagnostics,
• installed high-end pathomorphological microscopes, including a five-station set with a camera and monitor – significantly improving analysis quality and enabling consultations and training,
• equipped the laboratory with thermal chambers ensuring precise temperature control and electronic data recording – supporting the safe storage of diagnostic material,
• implemented an ergonomic workstation for washing and embalming, featuring a docking station and constructed from high-quality stainless steel – raising standards for post-mortem procedures and enhancing user safety,
• expanded the lab facilities with four water baths for processing paraffin-embedded tissue sections – ensuring high precision and process stability,
• added modern IT systems and digital controllers that enable data archiving, system monitoring, and device performance analysis,
• fitted the spaces with laboratory cabinets with formalin exhaust systems, storage racks, slide and cassette cabinets, containers, safes, and over 40 meters of custom-built furniture,
• introduced a management system for the Department of Pathology and Pathomorphology, along with a system for macroscopic image registration and documentation,
• installed cold storage and freezer chambers for body storage (including bariatric units), along with laboratory-grade refrigerators,
• installed autopsy lamps with built-in cameras and a light intensity of 60,000 lux, ensuring consistent and powerful illumination of the work area.
